the little ghost sat in millions of wallets for years and never had a name. then on july 10, at the world cup, phantom held it up and called it ghosti. hours later the community minted the name. the rest of it is ours to earn.

that is phantom naming their own mascot. it is not phantom saying anything about this coin, and nobody here is going to pretend it is. ghosti is a fan project — not affiliated with phantom and not endorsed by them.

the creator left — and pointed 7% at himself.

the original creator locked 7% of the old supply to himself, set to unlock and dump on everyone. the candle flickered. so we didn't wait for it.

the whole community migrated to a clean contract. every holder got 1:1 — plus extra as a thank-you for trusting the move. nobody was left behind; everyone came out ahead. the overhang that threatened the old token can't reach this one. mint & freeze authority renounced — verify it yourself.

migrations can be used to rug. ours was the opposite: it existed to protect the people already here. that's why the story is called what it's called — the candle never went out.

in chinese tradition you burn paper money so it reaches the other side. the offering crosses over, the spirit is fed, and the spirit looks after you. it is a loop, and it is thousands of years older than any of this.

that is the actual reason the mechanic is a burn and not a buyback. we are not managing a supply curve. we are feeding something.

中元节 · the ritual & ghost month

august 1 – 13 — the ritual. in the days before the gate opens, we feed the ghost. the team and community burn their own tokens as offerings — real burns, real hashes, nobody asked.

ghost month runs august 13 – 27. the gate opens on the 13th and peaks on the 27th — the hungry ghost festival, the night the hungry ones get fed.
